Position Summary
Responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair for the commercial truck industry. Performs repairs authorized by the customer using correct procedures in a timely manner, including driving a service vehicle to the customer's location to repair or replace tires as needed. Job duties may be performed at the Commercial Center, at the customer location, or on the side of the highway.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional image, be clean and well-groomed.
- Determine repairable tire conditions and perform repairs accordingly.
- Dismount and mount tires on drop center, semi-drop center, and multi-piece rims.
- Remove tires for retreading or repair.
- Match mating of dual assemblies.
- Inflate tires to prescribed PSI based on load requirements.
- Travel to customer locations for repairs.
- Keep shop floor, service area, and employee facilities clean and organized. Perform equipment maintenance duties.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Unload and organize tire and supply shipments.
- Attend and participate in store meetings.
- Assist other areas of the business as needed.
- Participate in ongoing technical and educational training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Serve as a mentor to General Service associates.
Desirable Qualifications

- Advanced knowledge of commercial tires and repairs
- Willingness to perform service calls during nights/weekends on a rotating basis
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to obtain DOT certification
- High School Diploma or GED
Mental and Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions; problem-solving skills involving multiple variables.
- Mathematical skills to perform measurements, calculations, and data interpretation.
- Regularly required to stand, handle, reach, talk, and hear. Frequently walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, chemicals, and noise. Occasionally exposed to extreme cold, vibration, and electrical shock risk.
