Job summary

Gills Point S Tire in Midland, TX is seeking an experienced Service Technician II to perform tire services, preventative maintenance, and light mechanical repairs while delivering excellent customer service. You will inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles, rotate tires, and assist with inventory and shop organization in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and familiarity with tire equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Automotive, tire, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Technical or vocational automotive training is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Familiarity with tire mounting, balancing, and repair equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy tires and equipment and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles while ensuring safety and performance.
• Mount, dismount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger and light trucks.
• Perform oil and filter changes and inspect vehicle fluids.
• Carry out basic mechanical repairs (brakes, suspension, steering, batteries, lights).
• Explain inspection findings and maintenance recommendations to customers.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and keep a clean, organized shop.
