Job summary

Fox Rent A Car in Chicago seeks a Tire and Lube Technician to perform oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and battery tests. You will handle minor electrical issues and ensure vehicles meet safety standards while maintaining repair logs. A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service is required.

The position requires a high school diploma or technical training, a valid license, and a flexible schedule including nights/weekends. A basic set of hand tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within established timeframes.
• Ability to read, write, and understand manuals and required paperwork.
• Comfortable working in weather, hazardous materials, and noisy environments.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A basic set of hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technician duties: oil changes, oil filters, tires rotation/balancing, tire repairs, and battery testing/installations.
• Inspect and replace brakes; handle minor electrical issues (fuses).
• Ensure vehicles are in optimal condition and complete repair orders.
• Respond to spills/accidents per regulations; maintain safety standards.
• Keep service area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Adhere to shifts and interact professionally with customers and team.

If you're a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in quality maintenance work and wants to make an immediate impact every day, this is your kind of role. Your Primary Focus Is To Perform technician duties, including changing oil and oil filters, rotating and balancing tires, repairing flats, and testing/installing batteries Inspect and replace brakes, handle minor electrical issues such as fuses, and ensure vehicles are in optimal condition Complete and maintain required paperwork, including repair order logs Respond to spills and accidents promptly, following company procedures and regulations for hazardous materials Maintain a safe, clean environment by keeping the service area, equipment, and tools organized and in compliance with all safety standards Adhere to your assigned shift and be dependable and punctual Interact professionally and effectively with customers and team members Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs and objectives.

Education & Experience
