Job summary

Roselle Park District is seeking a Tiny Tumblers Instructor to join the Recreation team in Roselle, IL. This part-time role involves teaching gymnastics and tumbling to ages 2–5, interacting with parents, and ensuring a safe, engaging class environment.

The position offers a $15/hour pay rate, 1.5 hours of class time per week (two 45-minute sessions), and benefits such as free individual gym and pool passes and discounts on programs.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Must have previous instruction and experience in gymnastics/tumbling/cheerleading.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide participants with information on class expectations and format.
• Create a fun and safe environment to learn gymnastics/tumbling basics.
• Update attendance sheets for daily classes.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace and positive relations with staff and the public.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Wear appropriate attire during working hours.
• Carry out directions from Recreation Supervisor.
• Handle public concerns politely and professionally.
• May perform other duties as necessary.

This is a parent/tot class -- looking for someone who can interact with parents as well as kids.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Must be 16 years old
• Must have previous instruction and experience in the gymnastics/tumbling/cheerleading field.
• Must be self-motivated and responsible.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to teach a variety of levels in a group setting.
• Ability to deal with residents, staff and job responsibilities under stressful conditions.
• Ability to control children within a classroom setting.
• Must be able to respond to and handle children's behaviors in a positive appropriate manner.
• CPR/First Aid certification, preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• May perform other duties as necessary.
