Job summary

Color Atelier in San Francisco is seeking a Tinting Specialist– Custom Color Matching to join our flagship showroom team. You will color-match customer samples and prepare lime paints, plasters, primers, and specialty finishes according to production specs.

You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting, and communicate with the Production Manager about timelines and color requests.

Qualifications

• Experience with custom color-matching in paints or plasters.
• Strong color theory and detail orientation.
• Ability to distinguish colors and subtle variations.
• Comfort with manual and computerized tinting systems.
• Excellent time management to meet deadlines.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Custom color-match customer samples with a high level of accuracy.
• Tint and prepare lime paints, plasters, primers, and specialty finishes according to production specifications.
• Maintain consistency and quality across all batches.
• Prioritize and complete orders efficiently to meet production deadlines.
• Communicate with the Production Manager regarding custom color requests and production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tinting workspace.
• Monitor inventory of pigments, tinting supplies, and materials.
• Perform quality control checks before products are packaged and shipped.
• Continuously improve workflow and identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
• Crostrain and assist in other departments as needed to support production and warehouse operations.

Job Title: Tinting Specialist– Custom Color Matching (Paint & Plaster)

Job location: San Francisco, CA

Compensation: $70,720.00 – $79,040.00 annually, DOE + benefits

Hours of work and days: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Work Location: This is a full-time, in-person position at our San Francisco location with an 8:30 a.m. start. Candidates should be based in San Francisco or have a reliable commute that allows for consistent, on-time attendance.

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.
