Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical welding certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years welding experience in steel mill, foundry, or heavy manufacturing.
• Direct BOF tip welding or rebuild experience with strong blueprint-reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (GTAW), build-up, and repair welding on BOF tips and related components.
• Read blueprints, weld procedures, drawings, weld symbols; ensure quality standards.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, and defects; perform rework as needed.
• Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components prior to welding.
• Operate welding equipment, positioners, and grinders safely while monitoring heat input.
