Job Title: TIG Welder (Aerospace)

Salary: £36,300 PA (£18.87 PH) Including Shift Premium

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Shifts: Mornings and Afternoons

Verus Recruitment Partners are delighted to support an industry-leading aerospace manufacturer based in South Sheffield in their search for a skilled TIG Welder. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cutting-edge company renowned for producing high-quality components for the aerospace sector.

About the role:
  1. Coordinate and collaborate with team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
  2. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of PPE and maintaining a hazard-free workspace, to ensure a safe working environment.
  3. Identify and troubleshoot issues during the welding process, such as equipment malfunctions or material defects.
  4. Inspect finished welds to ensure they meet internal and external quality standards (NADCAP and AS9100) and adhere to specifications, maintaining structural integrity and quality control.
  5. Maintain detailed records of welding jobs, including materials used, work completed, and any encountered issues, for quality control and documentation purposes.
  6. Perform precision TIG welding on a variety of aerospace components using exotic metals.
  7. Prepare metal components, ensuring proper alignment and setup for the welding process.
  8. Regularly maintain and clean welding equipment to ensure optimal functionality and prevent malfunctions.
  9. Stay updated on new welding techniques, technologies, and industry developments through ongoing training and skill development.
  10. Interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to ensure accurate execution of welding tasks.
  11. Operate semi-automated welding equipment for circumferential and longitudinal welds.
About You:
  1. Proven experience in TIG welding, ideally within the aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
  2. Ability to work with exotic metals and thicknesses 1mm and below.
  3. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing top-quality work.
  4. Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards.
  5. An understanding of lean principles (5S).
