Job description

Job Title: Welder
1st Shift: 7am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate Range: $18 - $25/hr
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Duration: 6 months temp with a possibility of extension or permanent conversion

Position Summary:
Performs manual welding utilizing standard process methods and equipment on various types of stainless steels in the fabrication or repair of assigned parts and products. Works under direct supervision or guidance of more experienced team members.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

1. Performs a variety of approved welding techniques to required tolerances per engineering specifications.
2. Reads, interprets, and understands product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements, applying this knowledge to work performed.
3. Makes adjustments within procedural limits to fine-tune the process for product conformance.
4. Documents and logs all parts as necessary, maintaining accurate and current paperwork.
5. Inspects and processes all work accurately and appropriately.

Secondary Responsibilities/Non-Essential Functions:

1. Maintains a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area and equipment.
2. Obtains and maintains all required qualifications and certifications in stainless steels and Inconel.
3. Follows safety rules and maintains high performance standards.
4. Gains proficiency in performing basic set-up and new/unfamiliar assignments.
5. Implements lean initiatives and suggests improvements.
6. Follows company policies and maintains a safe, clean work environment.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years of verifiable welding experience, including TIG welding for stainless, Inconel, and titanium. Aerospace or precision fabrication experience preferred.
• Must be AWS D17.1 certified within 6 months.
• Ability to perform GTAW on stainless steels of varied thicknesses and positions.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials for stainless steel alloys.
• Strong math, reading, and communication skills.
• Ability to weld Type 321 stainless steel, Inconel, Titanium, and Aluminum.
• Pass vision and perception tests.
• Effective team and communication skills, with the ability to use job-specific software and systems.

Physical and Mental Demands:
Constantly remains stationary, operates welding equipment, occasionally moves materials up to 25 pounds, and is exposed to Argon Gas and extreme heat.
