Qualifications

  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
  • Experience with oxygen and acetylene torches.
  • Arc welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas up to 80 feet.

Position Summary

Plant maintenance/mechanic position responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of facility machinery. Responsibilities include fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping, and other shop or processing duties.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Prioritize SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production.
  2. Actively participate in plant safety initiatives.
  3. Ensure a safe work environment at all times.
  4. Conduct OSHA pre-shift safety inspections.
  5. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on stationary equipment promptly.
  6. Fabricate, erect, and repair processing and mobile equipment.
  7. Coordinate backlog process with Plant Manager.
  8. Complete paperwork to maintain equipment and comply with Martin Marietta Materials standards.
  9. Check, repair, or replace pumps as needed.
  10. Maintain the maintenance truck properly.
  11. Perform preventative maintenance and lubrication services as per schedule.
  12. Train and coach other employees on preventive maintenance practices.
  13. Follow all LOTOTO procedures.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Experience with oxygen and acetylene torches
  • Arc welding experience preferred (certifications optional)
  • Knowledge of power tools (electric and pneumatic) and pneumatic systems
  • Own tools required
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (up to 80 feet)
  • Flexible working schedule

Working Conditions:

Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, with potential exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc. Must be able to work early mornings/evenings, 12-hour shifts, and Saturday schedules.
