Job summary

System One in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to fabricate and assemble metal components used in high-performance coils and heat exchangers. This contract-to-hire role requires reading blueprints and working from technical drawings in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position offers on-site work, second shift hours (3 PM–11:30 PM EST), potential overtime, and a path to permanent employment with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Welding certification and/or equivalent hands-on welding experience.
• Strong TIG welding experience required.
• Proficiency with MIG and Arc welding preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
• Manufacturing and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding to fabricate and assemble metal components.
• Utilize MIG and Arc welding techniques as needed.
• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding methods based on project requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all assemblies meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect completed welds for accuracy and quality.
• Identify and correct welding defects or imperfections.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow established manufacturing and quality procedures.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and production teams.
• Communicate project updates, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
• Support production schedules and quality objectives.
