Job Description

Mobile Staff Solutions is now hiring TIG Welders in the Tampa area! This is a 2nd shift opportunity (2 PM – 10:30 PM), Monday through Friday. This is a temporary to permanent position with an immediate start. Minimum of 2 years' experience required.

Position Summary

This position involves joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. The welder interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds for structural soundness and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in hazardous environments. The candidate should have proficiency in multiple relevant competencies and work independently within established procedures.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of related experience
• Post-secondary certificate (e.g., welding program, construction trades)

Must-Have Skills and Certifications

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for effective manufacturing and distribution
• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in blueprints, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
• Proficiency in welding various materials and excellent time management skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills and basic math proficiency
• Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment and harmoniously with co-workers and vendors

Responsibilities

• Perform stainless steel TIG welding on metal parts on a production line using welding guns or gas/arc welding equipment
• Connect hoses, turn valves, and ignite fuel gas and oxygen mixtures
• Guide the torch along weld lines to bend, melt, or build up metal
• Fuse parts, seal tension points, and add metal to build up parts as needed
