Job summary

Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Co. is seeking a TIG Welder/Production Welder to lay out, fit, and weld precision parts. You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and operate an overhead crane in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires mostly TIG welding with some MIG work, strong math/geometry skills, and a safety-forward mindset. High school diploma or equivalent is required, with two years in manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of factory/manufacturing experience with similar equipment preferred.
• TIG and MIG welding certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and set-up of equipment.
• Mainly TIG weld with some MIG welding according to blueprints and job orders.
• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and job orders.
• Position and align components for welding.
• Operate overhead crane to move parts.
• Clean or degrease parts as needed.
• Inspect welds for defects and troubleshoot procedures.

Salary Range: $21.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Summary/Objective

The TIG Welder / Production Welder requires knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principal methods involved in the production of precision parts is also required.

Essential Functions

• Lay out, fit, and set-up of equipment.
• Mainly TIG weld with some MIG welding according to blueprints and job orders.
• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Layout, positioning, and alignment of components for welding.
• Movement and positioning of workpieces using overhead crane.
• May clean or degrease parts using brush, grinder, or chemical bath.
• Troubleshoots welding procedures by visually examining welds for defects.

Required Education and Experience

• TIG & MIG Welding Certifications are a plus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1 st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 2 nd shift – 3:30pm to midnight, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
