Job summary

Monroechamber in Independence, MO is seeking a Welder to join our growing manufacturing team. You will perform MIG and TIG welding, read blueprints, assist with production, and learn to operate various shop equipment in a hands-on environment.

Choose from 1st shift (5:30am to 3:30pm) or 2nd shift (3:30pm-2:00am), Monday to Thursday, with $24.00 per hour. We offer an equal opportunity workplace and opportunities to grow your welding skills and advance in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or fabrication required.
• Ability to read welding symbols and blueprints is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and stand for extended periods.
• Safety-conscious and reliable team member.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators with daily production tasks.
• Learn to operate manufacturing equipment, including fiber lasers, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, following blueprints and quality standards.
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal parts using welding and other techniques.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Grind, sand, deburr, and finish welded components to meet production quality.
• Hand pick, sort, package, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Operate sanders, soldering equipment, and finishing tools as needed.
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop.
• Perform basic machine setup.
• Inspect welds and finished products for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
• Potential to train and become certified to operate a forklift.

Welder Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, following blueprints, specifications, and quality standards
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal parts and products using welding and other fabrication techniques
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Perform fabrication and assembly of parts and products
• Grind, sand, deburr, and finish welded components to meet production and quality requirements
• Hand pick, sort, package, and prepare finished products for shipment
• Operate sanders, soldering equipment, and other finishing tools as needed
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop
• Perform basic machine setup
• Inspect completed welds and finished products for quality and accuracy

Welder Requirements

• Manufacturing, fabrication, or shop experience is required
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding required; ability to read welding symbols and blueprints is a plus
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and welding equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and stand for extended periods
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace safety and following all welding and shop safety procedures
