Job summary

Aerotek is seeking TIG/Combo Pipe Welders in Southaven, MS to weld large-bore piping and structural steel for high-pressure data center projects. You’ll work from drawings, follow ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1, and contribute to safe, efficient turnover of systems.

The role requires hands-on welding, reading shop/field drawings, and coordinating with multi-discipline teams on site. Contract-to-hire with per diem benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience welding large-bore piping and structural steel to ASME Section IX.
• GTAW (TIG) on stainless steel and SMAW (stick) on carbon steel.
• Current ASME Section IX qualification or ability to pass pre-employment weld test.
• AWS D1.1 structural welding qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to read isometric, spool, and structural drawings and follow WPS.

Responsibilities

• Fit, tack, and weld piping and structural steel per drawings and WPS.
• Lay out, cut, bevel, grind, and align joints for proper fit-up and reinforcement.
• Read isometric and spool drawings and track heat numbers and rod controls.
• Support installation and hanging of supports, and bolt-up activities to complete weld package.
• Stage and inventory pipe, fittings, and tools, keeping laydown yards organized.
• Enforce safety rules, perform hot-work permits, and lockdown/tagout procedures.
• Report damaged materials and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Assist with punch-list completion, weld repairs, and turnover.
