Flagpoles Etc is seeking an experienced welder in Wixom, MI to join a hands-on fabrication team. You will perform TIG welding on aluminum and MIG welding on steel, read fabrication specs, cut, fit, assemble, and finish components.

The role requires attention to quality, safety, and the ability to work independently while also supporting warehouse duties and other shop tasks as needed. Flexibility with duties is appreciated.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Flagpoles Etc is looking for an experienced, dependable welder who can produce quality work and is willing to pitch in wherever needed. This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys variety, works well with a team, and understands that getting the job done sometimes means stepping outside the welding area.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on aluminum components
• Perform MIG welding on steel components
• Read measurements and follow fabrication specifications
• Cut, fit, assemble, and finish materials accurately
• Inspect completed welds for strength, appearance, and quality
• Assist with general fabrication projects
• Maintain an organized and safe welding and work area
• Help with warehouse duties when needed
• Assist with receiving materials and unloading trucks
• Move, organize, and stage products and materials
• Support production, shipping, and other departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands‑on TIG and MIG welding experience
• Strong aluminum TIG‑welding skills
• Experience welding steel
• Ability to produce clean, consistent, structurally sound welds
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Comfortable using common welding, cutting, grinding, and shop tools
• Dependable, safety‑conscious, and able to follow directions
• Willingness to perform warehouse and general shop duties when needed
• Able to work independently while also being a reliable team player

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous metal fabrication experience
• Experience working with aluminum products
• Experience operating material‑handling or warehouse equipment
• Ability to read shop drawings or fabrication plans
• Forklift experience is a plus

This is not a welding‑only position. We need someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and is also willing to jump in, help the team, unload a delivery, organize materials, or handle other shop and warehouse responsibilities when needed.
