Job summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. seeks a Tier I Technical Support specialist to assist the ARTEMIS team supporting AFRL at Edwards Air Force Base, California.

You will help keep Windows and Linux environments running, assist with ticketing, imaging, and deployments for 500+ users across classified and unclassified networks. The role emphasizes customer service, incident analysis, remediation, and coordination with Tier II engineers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Windows system administration and/or technical support.
• Experience in a Windows Operating System environment.
• Experience administering high-end hardware and scientific peripherals.
• Certifications preferred: MD-102 or CompTIA A+ 220-1101/1102.
• DoD 8140 IAT-II certification or Security+ CE preferred; HDI-SCA certification preferred.
• DoD Interim Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier I software and network support and troubleshooting.
• Analyze incident details, identify root cause, and provide remediation.
• Image computers and deploy desktops/workstations.
• Document problems with technical details in the ticketing system.
• Escalate issues to Tier II technicians as needed.
• Remotely or manually install software updates and apply STIG configurations and patches as required.
• Provide professional customer service in written and verbal form.
• Deploy desktop workstations and laptops throughout the AFRL Rocket Lab at Edwards AFB.
