Job Description

AMAG, an Allied Universal Company, is hiring a Tier 3 Technical Engineer. The Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer is responsible for resolving complex and unique technological issues with electronic security systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical support and service for an allocated set of prestigious accounts
• Develop guidance materials; educate others within AMAG; create internal “how to” guides and bespoke guidance documents for customers
• Validate work performed by software engineers, installers, and customer IT personnel; ensure quality assurance for upgrades and system changes
• Develop site visit proposals; document tasks and deliverables; coordinate scheduling and stakeholder involvement; monitor progress; perform quality assurance at each stage; evaluate site visits and provide reports to leadership
• Monitor vendor performance; document concerns; escalate issues as needed
• Research fault finding tools; advise on existing tools or alternatives
• Review customer hardware/software configurations; recommend upgrades
• Maintain server configuration standards; provide guidance on network, hardware, and software needs
• Conduct tests on new components and systems for optimal operation
• Support AMAG software, hardware, and access control systems
• Assist with Symmetry and third-party integrations
• Travel to customer sites for testing, troubleshooting, and resolution
• Collaborate with Technical Services, Hardware, and Software Engineers
• Develop test fixtures for issue simulation
• Maintain hardware and software systems, including servers and network equipment
• Install, upgrade, and support systems hardware/software; troubleshoot network issues
• Provide Tier 2 support when not onsite; own unresolved tickets

Qualifications (must Have)

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or specialized computer systems training
• Experience with PC hardware/software, network planning, and LAN/WAN training
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work urgently, multitask, and handle conflicts
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools and software utilities
• Strong knowledge of SQL and security disciplines
• Understanding of IP, DNS, AD, and firewall configuration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with access control systems
• Industry certifications like CISSP
• Knowledge of Microsoft OS, clusters, and related support practices
