Position
We are seeking a Security Systems Technical Specialist to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) Business Unit. You will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio-visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial clients across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
- Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements.
- Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements.
- Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks.
- Provide Tier 3 support to the system administration team.
- Program and integrate entire systems at a global level, utilizing advanced networking and system administration skills.
- Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and system administrators.
- Train system users and support personnel.
- Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including backups, error log reviews, and database checks.
- Document system performance and support activities thoroughly.
- Set up desktop hardware and operating systems, load imaging software, and update antivirus software.
- Research and evaluate existing and future systems to ensure interoperability and constructability.
- Perform and manage PITCO's and final system programming.
- Provide on-site support post-deployment.
- Interpret engineering drawings and understand SOP and SOW documentation.
- Maintain test lab equipment.
- Assist with annual performance evaluations.
- Ensure remote PITCO and access are available.
- Coordinate with engineering and field personnel on installation and design efficiency.
- Provide advanced database support and conduct research on new system manufacturers.
- Delegate tasks and support Level I and II Electronics Technical Specialists.
- Develop and build PITCO using 60% or 90% designs, ensuring adherence to SOW.
- Respond to support calls and document support activities.
- Perform research and development on new systems.
- Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Key Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting, or testing of electronic security systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 10+ years with an Associate's; 7+ years with a Bachelor's degree.
- Reliable attendance at customer sites during required hours.
Desired Qualifications
- Vendor certifications (Hirsch, BOSCH, Aiphone).
- Knowledge of analog and digital video equipment.
- CAD experience for building and installation documentation.
- Ability to write SOPs for ESS Install projects.
- System administrator experience in troubleshooting, resolving, analyzing, and extending systems.
