Job summary

Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine is hiring for the Ticket Checking team to verify passes at RFID gates and assist guests with directions and resort information. You don’t need ski experience; we provide winter wear and training.

Expect outdoor work in all weather, greeting guests, and ensuring safety and proper credentials. Wages range from $15.50 to $20 per hour, with resort perks and a welcoming team.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required but ski resort knowledge is helpful.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Help the Lift Operations team prepare the area for ski lift passengers.
• Greet guests and assist with directions and resort information.
• Monitor a computer tablet to confirm guests possess the correct credentials.
• Assist guests when the ticket process is compromised and communicate with Dispatch as needed.
• Maintain awareness of resort layout and safety practices.

Ticket Checkers direct guests to our RFID gates while engaging in fun and lively conversation. Our team provides excellent guest service by answering questions about the resort, helping guests find their way around, and maintaining a safe and inviting lift area. Y ou don’t need to know how to ski or snowboard and we provide high - quality winter wear to keep you warm. Whether you are an avid winter enthusiast or just looking for something a little different, come join our team!

Responsibilities

• Help the Lift Operations team prepare the area for ski lift passengers
• Assist with the shoveling, grooming, and raking of snow and ice when needed
• Greet guests
• Monitor a computer tablet to comfirm that guests poesses the correct credentials
• Assist guests when the ticket process is compromised
• Communicate to the Dispatch Office when someone is found to be utilizing our service without the proper credentials
• Become familiar with the resort's trails, basin areas and general resort layout
• Advise and assist guests as needed in a courteous manner
• Become familiar with the resort's policies, safety practices, and guest service expectations
• Contribute to team effort by participating in job sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participate in safety meetings; accept diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions
