Job summary

blazetalent is seeking a Senior Backend/Infrastructure Engineer to own backend architecture for a healthcare tech platform in a hybrid NYC setting. You will shape systems across member engagement, onboarding flows, and integrations with health-plan partners, using JS/TS on AWS, with Supabase and Snowflake as core data layers.

The role emphasizes production ownership (5–8+ years), API-first design, observability, and hands-on leadership as one of the first senior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years owning production backend systems end-to-end.
• Strong API design fundamentals (REST/event-driven).
• Proficient in JS/TS, Python, or Kotlin; AWS; Postgres/Supabase; Snowflake.
• Experience integrating with underdocumented vendor APIs and handling production edge cases.
• Observability-first mindset; solid data modeling instincts.
• Nice to have: NestJS, Terraform, Auth0, HIPAA/SOC 2 experience, LLM-powered workflow deployment.

Senior Backend / Infrastructure Engineer — Healthcare Tech (Hybrid NYC)

We're a mission-driven healthcare technology company backed by leading healthcare-focused VCs, partnering with health plans and state governments to help Medicaid and Medicare members stay connected to their care and benefits.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend/Infrastructure Engineer (5–8+ years) to own backend architecture across our member engagement platform, web onboarding flows, and the integration layer connecting health plan partners and internal systems. Our stack: JavaScript/TypeScript on AWS, Next.js, Supabase, Snowflake, and Postgres. You'll also help deploy pragmatic AI agents across the member experience.

As one of our first in-house senior engineers, you'll shape architecture, engineering practices, and hiring standards as we grow — with real autonomy and scope.

What You'll Do

Compensation & Benefits

$185,000–$200,000 base + up to 10% bonus + meaningful equity
