Job summary

Thrive Therapies Group seeks a Full-Stack Engineer to own core application architecture on a multi-tenant AWS platform. You will build features end to end using FastAPI, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, while guiding quality through design reviews and CI gates.

You will work with offshore teams, focus on HIPAA-safe data handling, and help scale the platform for care workflows, billing, and analytics in a remote-friendly, AI-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of professional experience building production web applications and integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong Python, ideally FastAPI, and React with TypeScript.
• Relational data modeling in PostgreSQL with safe live migrations.
• Hands-on AWS experience with containers, managed databases, IAM and infra-as-code (CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Daily use of AI-assisted development and AI code review.
• Experience with sensitive or regulated data, multi-tenant isolation, RBAC and keeping PHI out of logs.
• Clear written communication and comfort with distributed and offshore teams.
• Ability to complete HIPAA training and pass a background check.

About the Role

Thrive Therapies Group is hiring a Full-Stack Engineer on our platform team, reporting to our Chief Product and Technology Officer. You will own the architecture of our core applications, build features end to end, and set the quality bar for our team (including offshore). This role is ideal for an engineer with 4 to 7 years of experience who is curious, loves to tinker, and wants to build something meaningful from the ground up.

Our platform is a multi-tenant system on AWS: Python, FastAPI services on ECS Fargate, React and TypeScript front end, Aurora PostgreSQL, event-driven ingestion through S3, EventBridge and SQS, infrastructure as code with AWS CDK, and AI capabilities through Amazon Bedrock and Claude. It supports our care workflows, billing and reimbursement, insights on student outcomes, and more.

What You'll Do

Architect and Build

Own the architecture of the core application platform, including service boundaries, the data model, and the layering of routes, services, repositories and models

Build features end to end across FastAPI APIs, React and TypeScript interfaces, and PostgreSQL schemas with reversible migrations

Design event-driven pipelines that ingest care documents, session audio/video, demographics, and billing files.

Integrate AI services into clinical documentation and insights workflows

Evolve our AWS infrastructure as code with CDK

Set the Quality Bar

Lead design reviews for high-risk changes such as core platform scalability and security, workflow logic, bulk operations and data model changes

Review pull requests from our team for tenant isolation, authorization, PHI handling and database safety

Own AI tool governance, deciding which models and tools may touch our code and data, for our team and our partners

Maintain CI gates, automated tests and observability across Sentry, OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch

Stay Close to the Work

Spend time with providers, leaders, and operations teams to understand workflows before automating them

Own the adoption of what you ship, not only the release

Grow the Team

Serve as the day-to-day technical guide for a Full-Stack Engineer Intern

Document decisions and establish engineering practices as the team grows

How We Work

AI-native by default. We plan, build, test, review and submit with AI tools in the loop, and we expect you to reach for them without being asked.

Weekly operating cadence. We plan on Monday, build continuously through the week, and release when the work is ready and tested.

Forward-deployed. The people who build a tool also own its adoption. We sit with providers and operations teams, feel the manual pain first, then automate it.

Plan, do, check, act. We write down what we intend, build it, measure whether it worked, and adjust.

Qualifications

4 to 7 years of professional experience building production web applications and integrations.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Strong Python, ideally FastAPI or a similar framework, and React with TypeScript

Relational data modeling in PostgreSQL, including safe migrations on live tables

Hands-on AWS experience with containers, managed databases, IAM and infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation)

Daily use of AI-assisted development, including agentic coding tools and AI code review, with the judgment to catch when AI output is wrong

Experience with sensitive or regulated data, including multi-tenant isolation, role-based access and keeping sensitive data out of logs

Clear written communication and comfort working with distributed and offshore teams

Ability to complete HIPAA training and pass a background check

Preferred Experience

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Healthcare technology experience and working knowledge of HIPAA

Healthcare billing or clearinghouse integrations

LLM or speech-to-text features running in production

Data engineering, including pipelines and analytics models
