Job summary

Treasure Coast Hospice is seeking a thrift store operations assistant to support the Regional Operations Manager in day-to-day Stuart Thrift Store activities. The role includes cash handling, merchandising, staff and volunteer scheduling, and sales execution in a fast-paced retail environment.

Ideal candidates have retail experience and some management background, with strong people skills. Florida driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs are required; attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a retail environment.
• Some management experience preferred.
• Excellent people skills.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with proof of current auto insurance.
• Ability to lift small furniture items in-house, customer’s homes and in outside storage rental space.
• Attendance is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Open/close procedures (cash management, merchandising, scheduling staff and volunteers, and sales).
• Daily thrift store operations (pricing, sorting donations, managing expenses, instant decision making).
• Organize donation pickups with outside vendor.
• Small furniture pickups from donors; ability to drive company truck.
• Organize weekly promotions and sales.
• Provide positive, courteous, customer-oriented service.
• Train volunteers and staff.
• Support the organization’s compliance program and report requirements.
• Contribute to the strategic plan of the organization.
