Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring a Sales Associate I to assist in the Reno Thrift Store as part of the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. You will stock, operate the cash register, and help customers while maintaining store appearance and daily paperwork.

The role requires cash handling, good customer relations, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. This on-site, part-time position offers on-site requirements and growth opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle cash, make change and operate register.
• Must be able to take instructions and carry them out without direct supervision.
• Knowledge of merchandise preferred.
• Previous retail experience a plus.
• Good rapport with customers.
• Strong ability to utilize high levels of time management and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Stock, clean, rag out goods, operate the cash register and prepare daily paperwork.
• Responsible for keys to open and/or close store.
• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and giving prompt, courteous assistance to all customers.
• Answer telephone in a courteous fashion and direct caller to appropriate department.
• Ensure store appearance is clean and orderly.
• Responsible for janitorial duties: i.e., cleaning windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, etc. as assigned by management.
• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
