Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Belton, MO is seeking a friendly Store Sales Associate I to deliver outstanding customer service, assist with donations, and operate the POS system. You’ll help maintain organized shelves, restock merchandise, and support daily store goals in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or be pursuing one, plus basic cash handling and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing one.
• Retail, customer service, or cashiering experience preferred.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and represent The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
• Greet donors and shoppers and assist with transactions at the register.
• Operate the POS system and handle all cash transactions accurately.
• Open, close, and balance cash drawers per TSA cash handling policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized store by restocking, straightening racks, and cleaning work areas.
• Ensure merchandise is displayed properly and replenished regularly.
• Follow all policies regarding the sale of donated goods and work with team.
• Support store productivity and contribute to sales goals.
• Be available for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
