Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Indiana is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to join our team. This part-time role involves helping customers, processing sales, and assisting donors, with an emphasis on a welcoming shopping experience.

You’ll work 25 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, while supporting store goals and maintaining an organized environment. Training is provided, and an employee discount is offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move merchandise throughout the day.
• High school diploma or currently pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers & donors and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Assist donors with donations according to center policy.
• Sort, process, hang, tag, price, and prepare donated merchandise.
• Move priced merchandise to the sales floor, display areas, or other designated locations.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized.
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals.
• Other duties as assigned
