Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory operates a Durango Thrift Store, seeking friendly retail staff to support the donation flow and customer experience. The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, inventory, and merchandise presentation in a busy store environment.

Part-time associates may work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Experience with POS systems and strong communication with customers and donors is preferred; a background check is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and donors and providing prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stocking priced items and merchandising on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area cleanliness and organization; perform cleaning duties as directed.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and TSA procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages for QA.
• Assist donors with removing donated items and provide receipts.
• Sort and containerize donated material as instructed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
