Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey in Vails Gate, NY is seeking a Thrift Store Associate. This full-time, hourly role involves receiving donations, sorting, tagging, pricing, and preparing merchandise for the sales floor.

You will help maintain a clean stockroom and ensure safety while supporting donors and customers. The position requires physical stamina, a friendly, respectful demeanor, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• Ability to provide friendly, respectful service.
• Comfort with standing, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Sort, grade, and inspect donations for quality and condition.
• Tag and price merchandise according to company standards, meeting production goals per hour.
• Prepare items on rolling racks and carts for transport to the sales floor, ensuring full fixtures.
• Organize items for e-commerce and clearance, labeling goods accurately.
• Follow safety procedures and keep a clean, secure work environment.
• Provide excellent customer and donor service, including receipts and neat donation areas.
• Support mission by maximizing efficiency and productivity in daily tasks.
• Perform other duties to support the store team and organizational goals.
