Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey seeks a motivated Thrift Store Associate to handle donations, sort and price merchandise, and prep items for the sales floor in Vestal, NY. The role emphasizes safety, quality control, and efficient stockroom operations.

The position requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior retail or donation processing experience is a plus, with full-time weekday and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in customer service, donation processing, retail, or warehouse environments is a plus.
• Ability to provide friendly, respectful service to a diverse donor and customer population.
• Comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting, sorting, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Sort, grade, and inspect donations for quality and condition.
• Tag and price merchandise according to company standards, meeting production goals per hour.
• Prepare items on rolling racks and carts for transport to the sales floor.
• Organize and label items for e-commerce and clearance departments.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, secure work environment.
• Provide excellent customer and donor service, including receipts and donation area upkeep.
• Support mission by maximizing efficiency and productivity in daily tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the store team.
