Job summary

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a dedicated full-time Thrift Associate for the Cave Creek Thrift Store, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM–6:30 PM. The role emphasizes excellent customer service, merchandising, and donation processing to drive store revenue.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and offers generous benefits as part of a nonprofit environment. Training will cover cash handling and inventory routines, with emphasis on donor relations and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Thrift store or merchandising experience preferred.
• Ability to manage time independently in an unstructured environment.
• Must be able to operate the cash register after training.
• Assist donors and customers with loading donations and purchases, including furniture.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient operation of the thrift store.
• Maximize revenues using approved marketing and display techniques and pricing.
• Provide excellent customer service to donors and shoppers.
• Assist volunteers with thrift store operations and cashiering.
• Coordinate with thrift store drivers for donations pickups and truck loading.
• Prepare inventory for all donations and complete required tax documentation.
