Job summary

Blue Ridge Care in Winchester seeks a dedicated Thrift Store Associate to support daily thrift shop operations, price and merchandise items, and deliver friendly customer service.

You will work with volunteers, help with opening/closing, maintain cleanliness, and contribute to funds that support patient care and hospice services. High school diploma or GED preferred; computer literacy and retail experience welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Computer literacy preferred; willingness to learn required.
• Retail experience and customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pricing and merchandising: Price, stock, and display items for sale to create an inviting shop.
• Store operations: Open/close and ensure the thrift shop runs smoothly during hours, with good service.
• Volunteer coordination: Guide and support volunteers and orient new volunteers to procedures.
• Financial management: Maintain receipts of sales and donations; ensure daily deposits are accurate.
• Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and explain our mission.
• Facility maintenance: Keep shop, offices, and bathrooms clean and safe; rotate cleaning schedule.
• Autonomy: Work independently to meet community needs and support our mission.
