Job Summary
Our associates at Red, White, and Blue Thrift perform a range of tasks essential to our retail operations. These positions require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The roles are full-time, with medical benefits available after 90 days of employment. Brief descriptions of our positions are below.
Position Tasks:
- Facilities Associates: Unloading/loading trailers, operating a trash compactor, operating a baling machine, janitorial duties. This position is labor-intensive.
- Production Associates: Pre-sorting donations, sorting, pricing, hanging, tagging, attaching sensors, and distributing merchandise.
- Sales Floor Associates: Cashier, sales floor, and donation center attendant roles.
- Other positions include: Box Truck Driver, Dispatcher, and Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, back-of-house, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely perform job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity requirements.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40-70 lbs occasionally, exert up to 25 lbs frequently, and handle objects with negligible force.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in performing repetitive motions and tasks involving fine motor skills.
- Maintaining balance and agility.
- Clarity of vision at close and distant ranges.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, noisy, and brightly lit environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, donors, and coworkers.
- Flexibility to switch tasks or departments as needed.
Language Requirements
- Basic understanding of written and spoken English for instructions and communication, though not required to communicate exclusively in English.
