Job description

Our associates at Red, White, and Blue Thrift perform a range of tasks and processes essential to our retail operations. These positions require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The roles are full-time, and medical benefits become available after 90 days of employment. Brief descriptions of our positions can be found below.

Our Facilities Associates may be assigned to the following tasks:

1. Unloading and loading trailers
2. Operating a trash compactor
3. Operating a baling machine
4. Janitorial duties

The Facilities Associate position is labor-intensive.

Our Production Associates may be assigned to the following tasks:

1. Pre-sorting donations
2. Sorting, pricing, hanging, tagging, attaching sensors, and distributing merchandise to the floor

Our Sales Floor Associates may be assigned to roles such as:

1. Cashier
2. Sales Floor Attendant
3. Donation Center Attendant

Other available positions include:

• Box Truck Driver
• Dispatcher
• Supervisor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, back-of-house, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely perform job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity requirements
• Physical strength to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 lbs, frequently exert 25 lbs, and handle objects with negligible force
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for repetitive motions and tasks involving hand coordination
• Balance and agility to maintain body equilibrium in various environments
• Visual acuity at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, noisy, and brightly lit environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with customers, donors, and colleagues
• Flexibility to switch tasks or departments as needed

Language Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English for instructions and communication, though not required to communicate exclusively in English
