Job summary

Sophos is seeking an experienced Security Operations Manager in the United States to support its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) customers. You will oversee the Security Operations Center and its personnel, ensuring day-to-day security operations align with the MDR team's strategic mission.

The role requires deep expertise in incident response, threat analysis, and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field, or commensurate work experience.
• Experience in a Security Operations Center or similar environment with IOC detection and incident response.
• Fundamental understanding of network traffic analysis and threat intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision over operational tasks and provide day-to-day oversight for threat analysts.
• Oversee analysts in their investigation and response.
• Lead incident handling procedures and direct response to cybersecurity incidents.
• Communicate security information effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
• Apply attacker tools, tactics, and procedures to produce actionable indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Operationalize threat intelligence and open-source intelligence within MDR workflows.
• Stay current on threats and malware techniques to guide defenses.
• Support root-cause analysis and remediation during incidents.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure SOC effectiveness.
