Job summary

Harborview Medical Center's Public Safety department seeks a Public Safety Threat Manager to lead threat management activities, chair the multidisciplinary Threat Management Team, and advance risk assessment and training programs for executive and high-profile personnel.

The role focuses on proactive threat identification, analysis, and collaboration to strengthen safety and regulatory compliance across the hospital and affiliated clinics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, emergency management, psychology, behavioral sciences, public administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in Healthcare Public Safety, Law Enforcement, Threat Assessment, Protective Services, Emergency Management, or Workplace Violence Prevention.
• Three (3) years of leadership or program management experience.
• Experience conducting investigations and managing sensitive cases.
• Knowledge of healthcare operations and hospital regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Harborview’s Public Safety Threat Management Program and coordinate all threat assessment activities.
• Serve as chair or co-chair of Harborview’s multidisciplinary Threat Management Team (TMT).
• Support compliance with Washington State workplace violence laws, including RCW 49.19.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate threat intelligence from internal and external sources.
• Conduct risk assessments for hospital executives, board members, and high-profile visitors.
• Develop and deliver training programs.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards.
