Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a Threat Detection & Compliance Engineer to strengthen our cybersecurity posture through detection development, monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives. This role blends hands-on security engineering with governance, risk, and compliance activities.

You will design, implement, and maintain threat detection capabilities, develop SIEM use cases, and support audits while aligning with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in threat detection, security engineering, operations, compliance, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar or Elastic Security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring across enterprise environments.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, alerts, and correlation logic.
• Conduct threat hunting, investigations, and event analysis to identify risks.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to improve coverage.
• Support audits with evidence, documentation, and responses to requests.
• Evaluate controls and recommend improvements for compliance and risk reduction.
• Align monitoring with regulatory requirements and security frameworks.
• Analyze logs and telemetry from network, endpoints, cloud and apps.
• Develop dashboards and reports to measure detection effectiveness and compliance readiness.
• Automate monitoring, investigations, and reporting via scripting and workflows.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation of controls, monitoring processes, and audit artifacts.
