Job summary

Ventura County Credit Union in Thousand Oaks is seeking a part-time teller to assist members with transactions, cash handling, and basic banking services. This non-exempt role requires a high school diploma and a friendly, professional demeanor.

You will balance cash, process deposits and withdrawals, and help members understand products while spotting cross-sell opportunities. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; we value dependability and community focus.

Qualifications

• Previous cash handling and customer service experience required, 6 months +.
• Experience handling large amounts of cash, including balancing totals and resolving discrepancies.
• Professional, friendly, and positive outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with financial transactions in person, by telephone, or by mail, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, posting payments, check cashing, PINs, and ordering checks.
• Responsible for managing cash, including counting cash back to members, tracking funds by money type, and balancing daily.
• Deliver solutions to members with empathy, explaining products and services, and referring them to the appropriate branch rep for follow up.
• Identify referral and cross-sell opportunities expanding the member relationship based on account history and needs.

What You’ll Do

• Assist members with financial transactions in person, by telephone, or by mail. Including processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, posting payments, check cashing, pinning ATM and Debit cards, and ordering checks.
• Responsible for managing cash, including counting cash back to members, tracking funds by money type, and balancing daily.
• Deliver solutions to members with empathy, explaining products and services, and referring them to the appropriate branch rep and/or support department for additional follow up.
• Identify referral and cross-sell opportunities expanding the member relationship based on account history and needs, including reviewing promotional offers and marketing campaigns .

What We’re Seeking

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
