Job summary
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is seeking a Physician in the Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Service to lead and grow our comprehensive thoracic program.
This role emphasizes care of Veterans, complex thoracic disease management, and the development of robotics-enabled surgery within a multidisciplinary team. The selected candidate will teach residents and medical students, participate in clinical research, and uphold VA and Joint Commission standards while
Qualifications
- Must be a fully licensed physician with MD/DO and board certification in thoracic surgery.
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary thoracic surgery service is preferred.
- Knowledge of VA policies and academic medical center environments is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in a Cardio-Thoracic Surgery service for Veterans.
- Diagnose and treat complex thoracic diseases including lung/esophageal cancer.
- Lead and expand a thoracic surgery program, including robotic approaches.
- Oversee education and evaluation of residents and students within the service.
- Ensure compliance with VA guidelines and Joint Commission standards.
- Engage in teaching, research, quality improvement, and interdepartmental collaboration.
