Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet basic VA physician requirements including citizenship and license to practice medicine in the US.
• Residency training in a core specialty leading to board eligibility is required.
• Full and unrestricted medical license in any US state or territory is required.
• Preference for board-certified or equivalent professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care and surgical interventions to the Cardiothoracic Surgery program at Buffalo campus.
• Perform CABG, valve repairs, tumor resections, thymectomy with VATS, and related procedures.
• Share call coverage and urgent clinical services with the surgical team.
• Supervise medical students and residents; educate and train trainees in collaboration with university affiliate.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and departmental committees.
