Job description

We’re looking for an individual who embodies the luxury lifestyle experience. This candidate will have a passion for exceptional hotel service and can express that belief in an atmosphere of spontaneity and authenticity. Cook 2 requires good communication and intermediate culinary skills. The desired candidate will have 1-2 years of professional cooking experience with a good understanding of cooking ingredients, procedures, and kitchen best practices.

Responsibilities:
  1. Execute assigned service periods, focusing on high-quality, timely food, and maintaining stations and work areas.
  2. Prepare quality food with pleasing presentations, meeting food handling and quality assurance standards.
  3. Set up your station as specified in a timely manner, tasting to ensure quality of all mise en place. Take ownership of your station, proactively fixing problems.
  4. Ensure all prep is completed before service starts; communicate any delays to a manager.
  5. Assist in dishwashing duties when needed, especially during busy times.
  6. Clean your station thoroughly at the end of your shift, including scrubbing surfaces, equipment, and floors, and properly storing or discarding items.
  7. Fill out accurate prep lists for station teammates and prep team.
  8. Perform cross-training and other tasks as directed.
  9. Train new colleagues on station procedures and menu items.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Refined verbal communication skills.
  • 2 years of previous line experience preferred.
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform all basic cooking skills.
  • Able to work at a single station in the kitchen.
  • Strong desire to satisfy guests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
