Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the Central Automated Lab at Duke University Hospital, Sunday–Thursday night shift (11:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.).

You will supervise laboratory personnel, coordinate testing activities and ensure timely, accurate patient results. The ideal candidate is a Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist with at least five years of clinical laboratory experience and ASCP/NCA or equivalent certification; responsibilities include quality control, workflow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field, or equivalent CLIA-compliant credentials.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP, NCA or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory personnel and coordinate testing activities.
• Develop and implement quality control programs and maintain records.
• Prepare technical reports on workload, procedures and results.
• Coordinate staff scheduling and laboratory rotations.
• Oversee inventory of supplies and budgetary considerations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, QA, and regulatory standards.
