Job summary

MKS Inc. is seeking a Coating Technician 1 to join the Filters Unit Production team in Massachusetts. You will operate coating chambers, maintain process records, and perform single and multilayer coatings on glass substrates, while collaborating with engineering to improve yield and chamber uptime.

The role requires reading drawings, measuring with instruments, and basic digital/analog testing. Familiarity with vacuum chambers and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or military technical training required.
  • 0–1 year of related experience required.
  • Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems.
  • Ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments.

Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Coating Technician 1 at MKS Inc.

you will partner with Operations to produce thin film coatings in various vacuum chambers. In this role, you will report to the Filters Unit Production Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Operating various coating chambers per the production schedule
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate process records
  • Performing single & multilayer coatings on glass substrates
  • Communicating effectively with team members and across different functions of the business
  • Cleaning and Inspecting parts both before and after deposition process
  • Working with coating team and Engineering to improve coating yield, efficiency and chamber up-time
Skills You Bring:
  • Associate degree, military technical training or their equivalent vocational training is required
  • 0 - 1 year of related experience required
  • Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems
  • Ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments
Preferred Skills:
  • Thin film coating experience
  • Experience operating vacuum chambers
  • Computer literate - experience with Excel
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination • Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 25 pounds • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
