MKS Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Coating Technician 1 to join the production team.

You will partner with Operations to produce thin film coatings in various vacuum chambers and report to the Filters Unit Production Manager. You will operate coating chambers, maintain detailed process records, perform single and multilayer coatings on glass substrates, communicate across functions, and assist in cleaning and inspecting parts before and after deposition while helping improve yield and

  • Associate degree, military technical training or their equivalent vocational training is required.
  • 0 - 1 year of related experience required.
  • Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:As a Coating Technician 1 at MKS Inc., you will partner with Operations to produce thin film coatings in various vacuum chambers. In this role, you will report to the Filters Unit Production Manager.You Will Make an Impact By:• Operating various coating chambers per the production schedule• Maintaining detailed and accurate process records• Performing single & multilayer coatings on glass substrates• Communicating effectively with team members and across different functions of the business• Cleaning and Inspecting parts both before and after deposition process• Working with coating team and Engineering to improve coating yield, efficiency and chamber up-timeSkills You Bring:• Associate degree, military technical training or their equivalent vocational training is required• 0 - 1 year of related experience required• Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems• Ability to read drawings and use measurement instrumentsPreferred Skills:• Thin film coating experience• Experience operating vacuum chambers• Computer literate - experience with ExcelPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 25 pounds• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the timeCompensation and Benefits:Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
