Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a Thermofluids R&D professional to define machine architectures, model working fluids and cycle operations for gigawatt-class compute centers. You will design large-scale heat exchangers, piping and cycle architectures, and you will validate predictions against test data with a bias toward first-principles reasoning and fast iteration.

Qualifications

• Built thermodynamic cycle models from fluid properties.
• Sized real heat exchangers against published correlations.
• Calibrated models against datasheets or test data.

Responsibilities

• Define the machine you must design, owning the cycle model and operating conditions.
• Design heat exchangers with area scales of millions of square meters for data-center scale.
• Design the fluid system around the machine: piping, valves, headers, relief and isolation.
• Run trades to optimize air-side temperature rise and flow dynamics using validated models.
• Validate cycle predictions on test stands and explain deviations from measured COP.
