Job summary

Schlumberger is seeking a Simulation Software Developer – Thermodynamics Specialist in Houston to advance thermodynamic models for accurate process simulation across oil & gas, LNG, refining, and energy-transition applications. You will design, implement, and improve thermodynamic models and algorithms used for steady-state and dynamic simulations, primarily in C++ with Python scripting.

Qualifications

• Masters/PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Applied Math with thermodynamics focus.
• Experience developing scientific software for fluid modeling and phase equilibrium.
• Experience with electrolyte thermodynamics and distillation algorithms.
• Experience automating numerical and software workflows at scale.
• Strong numerical methods for thermodynamics.
• C++ and/or Python for scientific software.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and improve thermodynamic models and algorithms.
• Develop, validate, and maintain software used for high-fidelity simulations.
• Collaborate in an agile, cross-disciplinary team and contribute to writing and support.
