Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Thermal R&D Engineer to advance thermal management for power products using CFD simulations and lab correlation. You will work with cross-functional teams and customers to translate thermal results into actionable design guidance.

Requirements include a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in CFD/thermal analysis; experience with liquid cooling is a plus.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of CFD simulation and thermal analysis experience.
Strong knowledge of heat transfer and thermal management of electronics.
Experience with direct liquid cooling is a plus.
Familiar with ANSYS Icepak and/or FloTHERM.
Familiar with EIA, UL standards.
Proficient in 3D design using Creo and/or SolidWorks.
Strong ability to present thermal solutions to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate modeling, thermal simulations, and characterization of power products and system architecture.
Correlate simulation results with test data.
Provide design guidance and consideration to customers on power applications against their design requirements.
Perform design feasibility experiments and verifications to determine thermal impact of product solutions.
Build technical relationships with our customer's engineering and thermal teams.
Provide world class technical support to our customers.
