Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a skilled Planner/Scheduler professional to monitor and optimize the thermal performance of power generating equipment. The role focuses on data analysis, setting KPIs, and guiding maintenance and O&M activities to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.

The position involves planning scopes of work, estimating manpower and material needs, and coordinating across teams to drive continuous improvement in plant performance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 8+ years of related plant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Thermodynamics, or Industrial Engineering (or related); may substitute 5-8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Monitor thermal performance of power generating equipment.
• Establish, update, and communicate KPIs for the monitoring program.
• Assist in optimizing equipment operation to meet key program performance indicators.
• Develop O&M and Capital budgets for maintaining/improving thermal performance of process equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering resources to support/implement performance improvement initiatives.
