Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a senior specialist to monitor and optimize the thermal performance of power generating equipment at facilities in Illinois. You will develop scopes of work, estimate manpower, and lead performance improvement initiatives.

You will establish KPIs, provide technical support, and collaborate with engineering for equipment overhauls and budgets. Strong communication and LOTO knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of related plant experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, thermodynamics, or industrial engineering (or related discipline).
• May substitute 5–8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PI Process Book, SAP and PaSTA.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with all levels of the organization.
• Basic understanding of LOTO practices for related process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor thermal performance of power generating equipment.
• Develop scopes of work and estimate manpower and materials.
• Establish and communicate KPI for the program.
• Provide technical support and equipment inspection expertise.
• Interface with engineering resources to support improvements.
• Create schedules and documents; coordinate between work groups.
• Ensure resources are used cost-effectively.
• Support safety and environmental policies.
