Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is hiring a Major Projects - Thermal Performance Engineer in Shippingport, PA. The role focuses on owning and resolving high-tier thermal performance issues to support uprates for Beaver Valley, Perry, and Davis-Besse units, coordinating with cooling tower, steam turbine, and steam cycle specialists.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program and at least 6 years of relevant experience, with nuclear familiarity preferred

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree required.
• Minimum six years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in nuclear or steam cycle components.
• Experience analyzing thermal performance of power plant equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and resolve high-level thermal performance issues for Vistra nuclear units to support uprates.
• Coordinate projects and studies with vendors and internal stakeholders through completion.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to address complex thermal problems.
• Provide oversight of vendor activities such as tests and walkdowns.
