Job summary

Vistra Nuclear is seeking a Thermal Performance Engineer to own and resolve high-level thermal performance issues for its Beaver Valley, Perry, and Davis-Besse units. The role involves coordinating with vendors across cooling towers and steam systems to improve unit output and reliability.

You will work independently to analyze information, present findings, and support Vistra initiatives while building strong internal and external relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) from ABET accredited program.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Nuclear experience preferred.
• Experience in thermal performance analysis of steam cycle components.

• Identify and perform tasks to meet objectives.

Key functions include ownership and resolution of higher-tier station thermal performance issues for Beaver Valley, Perry, and Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plants that need to be resolved to support uprate of these units. This job includes coordination with various vendors including cooling tower, steam turbine and steam cycle specialists. Accountable to work with vendors, peers, and other stakeholders to identify latent deficiencies to close and improvements to make to improve increase rated output of the units. Frequently works independently to identify and perform tasks as required to meet Vistra objectives. Supports the gathering and analysis of information necessary for Vistra initiatives or to solve complex problems.
