Qualifications

• Solid 3D CAD and drawing fundamentals with GD&T; ability to release complete drawings.
• Heat transfer, mechanics of materials, and materials fundamentals for high-temperature service.
• Hands-on: shop environment, build test setups and verify parts.
• Clear written and spoken communication; organized multi-project workflow.
• Level II experience: design to release with supplier/manufacturing coordination.
• Onsite at Hayward, CA facility with travel to Mexico.
• Interest in AI-assisted engineering workflows and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and assemblies with GD&T and release drawing packages for heat-assembly components.
• Run power and heat-transfer calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and material selection for high-temp service; support FEA.
• Review customer requirements, build BOMs, and estimate fabrication time and cost.
• Support prototype builds, testing, data review, and design iteration.
• Coordinate production transfers at Therm-x de Mexico; travel to the facility as needed.
• Design fixtures, tooling, and test hardware for prototypes and production.
• Prepare documentation for reviews; own engineering changes on parts.
• Leverage AI-assisted workflows for design and documentation.
